You’ve got a positive pregnancy test!
Right so what’s next?
1. Take a note of the first day of your last period. From this date you can work out roughly when you’ll be due to give birth. There are lots of ways to work this out online or your midwife/Gp can do this for you!
2. Be mindful of what you eat and drink! Some foods are not safe in pregnancy! Remember to keep yourself hydrated so water is key! @prenatalnutritionist have some amazing advice on their page!
3. Contact your local midwife/GP surgery and let them know you’re expecting. Don’t worry about phoning the wrong place, every health board do it slightly different so you’ll be directed to the right place!
4. Start taking pregnancy vitamins if you aren’t already doing so! Pregnant women require Folic Acid and vitamin D to help the healthy development of your unborn baby. Your midwife should provide you with some or they will be available at your GP surgery.
The first trimester (conception-12 weeks) can be tiring! Make sure you’re resting when you can and taking care of yourself!
